Kutraluk Bolton, Inupiaq, grew up in Kotzebue, Alaska. He now resides in Washington, DC, where he serves as NANA Development Corporation’s (NDC) Senior Director of Government Affairs.   NDC is the business subsidiary of NANA Regional Corporation, one of 12 land based Alaska Native regional corporations.

Kutraluk is both a NANA and Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation (KIC) shareholder and first worked for NANA after graduating from Cornell University in 1988. Over the years he has returned in various capacities to support NANA’s mission to improve the well-being of its 13,000 shareholders, most of who live above the Arctic Circle.

Prior to re-joining NANA, Kutraluk was a social scientist. He holds a doctorate in cultural anthropology from Stanford University and conducted his fieldwork in Tokyo, Japan, where he spent 10 years as a researcher and instructor.
